Hebrews 3 of 11
An oral report
The Israelites were way behind the times in military matters (so it is amazing that they were able to do what they did (through God)
The Canaanites had iron swords and other iron weapons while the Israelites had farm implements and other assorted weapons.
One of the reasons that the Israelites may not have been able to totally expel the Canaanites was because of their use of chariots on the plains.
in the book of Judges the Israelites won mostly by surprise attacks and heroic single person battles (0:1000 or more)
The only time that the Hebrews had a standing army was during Solomon and David’s rules
The Hebrews often paid tribute to be protected or were conquered.
